In the Pew but Don't Know Why...Why am I Catholic?
Hundres of people joined the Cleveland Catholic Forum on Thursday, October 20th at 7 PM at the St. Joseph Christian Life Center for our 1st "In the Pew but Don't Know Why" series, "Why am I Catholic?" Questions were answered such as,
"Have you ever wondered what your faith really means?" "Why Catholic?" "What’s so unique about Catholic life?" "How is being Catholic different from other Christian denominations? What do we have in common?"
The event was at St. Joseph Christian Life Center (Lakeshore and E. 185th Street, next door to Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School). The evening began at 7:00pm and featured two dedicated Priests from the Diocese of Cleveland. Fr. Dave Ireland, Pastor of St. Gregory the Great in South Euclid, who offered some thoughts on the importance of scripture and tradition when thinking like a Catholic. Fr. Jay McPhillips, Pastor of St. Helen in Newbury, then followed with how a biblical foundation is essential when considering some actual teachings and pastoral issues. The 2-hour event was concluded with some time for audience questions and reflections. The event was well received and a huge success.
